Family Programs

On January 28th, from 10-12, join the CCHS, the Chanhassen Library and the Chanhassen Historical Society for a Family Day of History. Learn a brief history of Carver County and Chanhassen and "meet" some of the key figures in Chanhassen history. This event is FREE. Open to families of all ages.

On Saturday, March 17th, from 1-4pm, join the CCHS and Points Unknown of Watertown at Baylor Regional Park for a day of family fun! Do you like dogs? Have you ever wanted to learn more about dog sledding? Well, here your chance. Have a chance to meet some very friendly and well-trained dogs, learn more about dog sledding, see how the dogs are trained and harnessed, and more! Families will not be allowed sled rides in the time set aside. Cost will be underwritten by the CCHS and parking at Baylor waived by the Carver County Parks. Cost for members: $7.50.adult, $5/child. Cost for non-members: $9/adult, $6/child. Children must be accompanied by an adult at the event. Pre-registration required.

On Saturday, March 24th, from 10am-12pm, join the Carver County Parks and the CCHS at Baylor Regional Park for Maple Tapping. The sap is flowing in the trees, the snow is melting, spring is on its way in. Time to learn how syrup is made, enjoy some stories and crafts, and enjoy fresh syup over ice cream. This event is FREE. Open to families of all ages.

On Saturday, April 7th, from 12-3pm, join us for a day of egg painting fun. Easter is coming soon, it's time to get artistic and create some colorful eggs to share and enjoy. Parents, learn the finer art of Ukrainian egg painting with you kids 10 and up, while the younger kids do some simple egg dying and enjoy an egg hunt. Pre-registration is required. Cost $15/adult, $5/child.
