August 4, 1870 - Joseph Ramaker fell off barge while working on it and drowned in Minnesota River.

August 5, 1977 – Watertown Fire Department “Biggest Fire Truck” Arrives.

August 6, 1970 – American St. Bank at Watertown robbed.

August 7, 1890 – Old Camden College has been rented to members of Gods Church for Sunday School.

August 8, 1934 – Gypsies attempt Robbery after getting into the house of Joseph Wellen.

August 9, 1935 - Tornado Sweeps Norwood – Heavy Damage $40,000 total estimated loss.

August 10, 1972 – Ruth Barlau, age 6, accidentally shot.

August 11, 1898 – William Sarver Sold His farm and Moved to Wasburn, Wisc.

August 12, 1903 – Ernst Ohm family departed for McHenry, No. Dakota where he will homestead some land.

August 14, 1873 – John Levine awarded Contract for building the foundation of the Catholic Church in Waconia.

August 15, 1895 – Ferry now in running order; Mr Olson is the ferryman at SanFrancisco at Thompson’s Old Place.

August 16, 1943 – Sam Zamjahn drowned in the Minnesota River.

August 17, 1911 – O. G. Sarver Purchased Alpine Cottage from his parents.

August 18, 1933 – Myrtle Nellen and Stanford Lenz were married on August 10, 1933.

August 19, 1932 – Carol Schimelpfenig, age 3, died of burns.

August 20, 1943 – Minnesota Valley Canning Company harvesting 2,200 acres of Corn.

August 21, 1892 – Mrs. Catherine Devaney, housekeeper to priest of the Assumption Church, died.
