Cologne
Adam and Paul Morbacher owned the land where Cologne now is located. It as surveyed and platted in 1880. Benton was a community to the North of Cologne. When the Railroad came through Cologne, Benton became a farming community. St. Bernard's Catholic Church lies between the two communities overlooking Lake Benton. At this time according to the 2000 census the population of Cologne is1,012 and the area of Benton has become a residential area.
